This is a courtesy message from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina, your local water provider for the Sapphire Valley community.
Customers will experience periods of low pressure and or outages in the distribution system due to a main repair in your area today. Our Operations staff will work as quickly as possible; however, repairs are expected to take several hours. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system.
As a precautionary measure, once water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation). As an alternative, bottled water may be used. The North Carolina Division of Water Resources Public Water Supply Section has been contacted concerning this event.
Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This office is strongly urging water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. Customers will be notified by a second phone notification message once the boil advisory has been rescinded.
