Due to extremely cold temperatures through the remainder of this week, this is a reminder that to prevent your water lines from freezing, you may choose to leave a faucet on at a slow trickle, about the size of a pencil tip. It is recommended to use the furthest faucet from where your water line enters your home. The constant movement of the water helps to prevent internal plumbing from freezing. The small volume of water will amount to a few cents per day but can prevent paying for costly plumbing repairs. You may also wish to open cabinet doors under your sinks to allow warm air near your water pipes, this can also help them from freezing.
