Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for Western North Carolina

All Western N.C. systems are under currently on Precautionary Boil Water Advisory - we will update in the RESIND section and via Customer Notification System as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and attention to safety while we safely restore operations.

This is a courtesy message from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina, your local water provider or the Western N.C., region

Our teams are working as safely and quickly as possible across the state to support our customers. We are continuing to assess the impact of Hurricane Helene to our systems. We have procured critical equipment, supplies and mutual aid from our operations in neighboring states. Because of the number of power outages experienced in this area, we are issuing a boil water notice to all of our Western N.C. customers.

As a precautionary measure, once water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation), or bottled water is advised. The North Carolina Division of Water Resources Public Water Supply Section has been contacted concerning this event.

Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. Customers will be notified by a second phone notification message once the boil advisory has been rescinded.
